St John's Memorial Episcopal Church Summer Choir School 2023

August 14, 2023-August 18, 2023 | St. John’s Memorial Episcopal Church of Ramsey invites children to join us for a church music adventure this summer from August 14-18, from 9-12 noon daily. With a highly qualified staff, the Choir School is led by St. John’s organist/choirmaster Drew Kreismer, who is well experienced with elementary aged children and is passionate about developing their love of music making in The Church.
This one week summer choir school will help young children grow their skills in music and performance, in a nurturing Christian environment.

The Choir School day consists of a choir rehearsal, a Bible lesson, snack time, and two electives in either bell ringing, recorder playing, Orff ensemble, band instruments (with prior experience), arts and crafts, or dance.
The curriculum is based on Noah’s Ark: “A Place For Everyone”, an original musical play written for the Choir School by director Drew Kreismer. Using the traditional Bible story, themes will align with timely virtues of inclusivity, caring, environmental awareness, faith, and hope for the future, all from a 21st Century perspective. All classes and activities will build on these themes and culminate in a performance on Friday, Aug. 18 at 7PM.
Children from any religious background are welcome. A simple recommendation from a teacher or clergy is needed. Children should have finished 1st grade through 5th grade by June 2023. Tuition is $135. Need based assistance is available.
